Dow are increasing the price of GMA whilst Ashland are increasing prices for their resins and gel coat products

The Epoxy Products and Intermediates business of The Dow Chemical Company is increasing the North American selling price of glycidyl methacrylate (GMA).

Effective from July 1, 2004, as contracts allow, Dow will increase the price of GMA by $0.15 per pound. All other terms and conditions of sale remain unchanged.

“The pricing of raw materials continues to rise and has had a negative impact on our costs and our margins,” says Julie Mongeluzi, Dow’s marketing manager for GMA in North America.

Ashland Composite Polymers is increasing, by 5 cents per pound, the price of its unsaturated polyester resins, vinyl ester resins, low-profile additives and gel coat products for North American customers.

This adjustment will be effective July 12, 2004, and is in addition to all previously announced increases. It is the direct result of rising costs for raw materials, energy, packaging and transportation.
