Dilutec Highlights the Advantages of Pool Maintenance with Gelcoat

Dilutec has developed two products for the maintenance of pools: ColorgelISO/NPG and Colorpatch.

Dilutec explains that the first is used in both the repair of composite pools and the conversion of brickwork models (finished in ceramic tile or vinyl) into composites. The second product is a type of additive mainly used in repairs and repainting of small areas.

According to Marcos Pannellini, Commercial Manager of Dilutec, the repair of swimming pools with Colorgel ISO/NPG is much more advantageous than the maintenance with polyurethane-based enamel paints. “It provides a much higher anchoring rate and excellent coverage, in addition to a greater resistance to weathering and better finish. Ordinary paints, in contrast, loosen the laminate and suffer premature fading,” he said.

Pannellini says, there is plenty of divergent information available in the pool maintenance segment, which ends up causing, after the completion of the repair, the dissatisfaction of the end customer. “With a well formulated product and well-made application, the renovated pool could last, at least, another twenty years,” he said.

A proof of this can be seen on the day-to-day work of New Piscinas, a company from Goiás, Brazil. “After the repair is done with gelcoat, I can forget about the customer for a long time,” said Adilson de Souza, Owner. Throughout this year, New Piscinas transformed approximately 80 brickwork pools into composite pools. “There are many complaints about leaks, in the case of ceramic tiles, and low resistance of water pockets, when the pool is made of vinyl. Then, after making the change, the problems are over.” When the original pool is made of composites and the gelcoat is worn out, says de Souza, simply sand it and apply a new layer of the product.

“Dilutec’s gelcoats have a great performance, which helps us further consolidate New Piscinas in the maintenance market,” he says.
