Brazilian gelcoat and thinner manufacturer Dilutec celebrates 23 years in business this month.
In 2017, the company reports that it grew 30%, despite the economic crisis faced in Brazil.
“The first months of 2018 indicated some turbulence due to the higher prices of the raw materials we process, such as polyester resins,” says Evair Tozzi, Managing Partner of Dilutec. “However, we have been managing to keep up with the volumes estimated for the period.”
Tozzi also reports good market acceptance of the company’s latest product, Colorgel FR LE, introduced in March. This gelcoat complies with the plastics flammability standard UL 94, in the V-0 classification, and is characterised by the low emission of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in the atmosphere, such as styrene monomer.
In the thinner area, Dilutec completed another expansion at its plant in Piracicaba (São Paulo) earlier this year. The gelcoat business is concentrated in Senador Canedo (Goiás). The company now has the potential to produce 1 million litres/month of high performance thinners, diluents and synthetic reducers.
Dilutec is also the distributor of BÜFAtec Spain equipment in Latin America, and the official distributor of Ashland resins in the mid-west region of Brazil.
