Diab reports that its Divinycell core materials were used in the construction of the new Ferrari Land theme park in Spain.
Designed by Miraplas, a Spanish-based company specialised in composite materials for construction work, the massive structures of the amusement park needed to be robust but lightweight. Although many of the structures were made using monolithic materials, some parts required more advanced technology to avoid deformation and buckling, Diab reports. To maintain strength without adding weight, Miraplas chose the PET core Divinycell P60 for these parts of the Ferrari Land designs. According to Diab, Divinycell P is ideal for construction applications such as interior panelling, floors and exterior panels for trains, trams, buses and coaches, since as well as being lightweight, it boasts good mechanical and fire, smoke and toxicity properties.
