The ICERP-JEC Innovation Award within the Marine segment goes to Diab/CCG and Aquarius Shipyard for innovative use of a single shot resin infusion process with stiffeners for the hull and deck or all kinds of vessels.

Diab/CCG explains it has worked with Aquarius to design and realise the 3D infused boat in India for the first time. According to Aquarius Shipyard, there are numerous benefits to the core infusion process. All types of boats can be infused using this process and it has won the shipyard a large number of government orders. The production of larger components has been made easier and the VOC emissions are extremely low. The mould cycle times have been substantially shortened and there are high fibre fractions and good skin/core bonding. In addition, it says that there are substantial weight savings and production has been made easier since it is possible to produce components in a consistent and repeatable way.
