The Composites Engineering Group (CEG) has completed the acquisition of Delta Patterns, to ensure a complete composites design and tooling to manufacturing service for existing and new customers throughout the Group, and has renamed Delta Patterns as Orion Machining.
CEG explain the name change is being made to better reflect the current business strategy at the Composites Engineering Group, which includes Alpha Composites and Carbon Composites, and to get away from any confusion which may have arisen with Delta Composites.
CEG say that although there is a planned change in company strategy associated with the name change to expand into new niche markets and broadening market sectors, Orion Machining will continue to specialise in the design, development, manufacture and supply of rapid prototyping, tooling, jig provision, pattern making, rohacell and carbon machining.
Stephen Blackford, Sales & Production Manager believes the name change will help create a more distinctive identity for current and future company development and customer services. He said “Our customers are now in a growing number of different market sectors including F1, motorsport and automotive sectors together with defence, aerospace, security, marine, wind turbines, security, sport and leisure. We are sure that our business will continue to expand through disciplined, efficient and meticulous efforts, and providing a full manufacturing service from initial consultation, CAD design, CNC machining of patterns, rohacell, carbon components and final CMM inspection.”
CEG say that customers have the surety that work undertaken at Orion Machining is conducted under strict Confidential and Non Disclosure Agreements and their aim is to meet the needs and expectations of customers for professional service. They are currently being assessed for the ISO9001, which will be incorporated throughout all areas of their controlled working environment to endorse their existing capability and to provide traceable control of the materials and products they supply.
