Dainippon Ink, Showa Highpolymer on China Venture

Dainippon Ink and Chemicals Inc. and Showa Highpolymer Co reached an agreement Tuesday to tie up in the production of polyester molding compounds in China.

Dainippon Ink will purchase a 20% share in a Showa Highpolymer polymer production and sales unit in Shanghai. The new company will start producing polyester molding compounds in March, and is expected to generate revenues of 1.5 billion yen in 2006.
