Responsible for 20% sales of concentrated orange juice worldwide, Cutrale has just invested US$ 570.000 in the acquisition of five kilometers of glass reinforced polyester (GRP) centrifuged pipes from Amitech – the only Brazilian manufacturer able to produce this kind of piping.
“We started our partnership in the beginning of 2005 and, until now, we have already supplied fifteen kilometers of pipes to Cutrale”, calculates Rogério Sciamana, business coordinator for Amitech. Two years ago, Cutrale altered the initial specification of a supply which included pipes of reinforced polyvinyl chloride (RPVC), steel or PVC CIOD to GRP Centrifuged Pipes.
The pipes from Amitech will be destined to the irrigation of three Cutrale farms, located in the states of São Paulo and Minas Gerais. “The diameters vary between 400-500 mm and the pumping pressures can achieve up to 16 bar”, details the business coordinator for Amitech.
According to Sciamana, Amitech will deliver the full lot by the end of February. “But the installation shall be performed in a maximum of thirty days, thanks to the lightweight of GRP pipes together with the easy connection with our Integrated Elastic Joint (JEI)”, he explains.
