CRP Technology will showcase its latest innovations in the field of additive manufacturing with Windform high performance materials.
Its 3D printed applications are two generative orthoses made in collaboration with MHOX Generative Design studio, the main structure (with single arms) of Bebop 2 drone’s functional prototype, Automotive intake manifold functional prototype.
According to CRP, the generative orthoses and Bebop 2 drone’s body are manufactured in polyamide based glass fibre reinforced composite material Windform GT. It combines optimal characteristics of elasticity, ductility, and resistance to impact. It is also not an electrically conductive material and waterproof material, with resistance to the absorption of moisture and liquids. It has passed both the patch epicutaneous test and the analysis performed on the leaching liquid (it can be used to create devices which can be applied on skin).
The automotive intake manifold is made from Windform SP, a composite polyamide based material which is carbon filled. CRP says it has excellent mechanical properties with the addition of increased resistance to shock, vibrations, and deformation. Windform SP has waterproof properties, and it is resistant to absorption of liquids and moisture.
Generative orthoses and Bebop 2 drone’s body will be on display at the Better Living Innovation Planet (Hall 5A), whilst the Automotive intake manifold functional prototype will be displayed at the Automotive & Land Transportation Innovation Planet (Hall 6).
