Composite Solutions, Inc. announced that it has completed the transaction to acquire 100% of the shares of Trans-Science Corporation (TSC) in exchange for the issue of 953,371 of Composite Solutions, Inc. restricted shares. San Diego-based Composite Solutions, Inc. (CSI) uses advanced composites to strengthen buildings and bridges and to minimize the damage that can be inflicted by earthquakes, overloading, and accidental or intentional explosions. TSC, also based in San Diego, recently developed the only comprehensive design software for the seismic retrofit of civil structures using composite overlays, and is now xtending its design software to include the analysis of explosive threats. TSC’s work on explosive loading is part of a counter-terrorism program sponsored by the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA). Other members of the research team include Karagozian & Case, Structural Engineers (K&C) and the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). The current acquisition of TSC and he intended acquisition of K&C is expected to enable CSI to become a key commercial player in both the blast retrofit and seismic strengthening markets.
