Composite Leaf Spring

Iran Composites Institute has designed and manufactured a composite leaf spring with the filament winding process.

Compared with previous works in this area, a major success of the project has been introduce and validate new materials, new design and new fabrication routes. Leaf springs in the suspension of commercial vehicles, such as the Peugeot RD1600 and Paykan were investigated in this project, in safety critical demanding applications since the springs are used for axle location.

Future planes of the Iran Composites Institute in this project will be firmed to establishment of this composite spring in other vehicles such as trucks, trailers and semitrailers, even for trains.
