Composite Advantage LLC has acquired a new 22,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Dayton, Ohio.
The building will allow CA to add new product lines in addition to its current lineup. CA will be able to mould larger composite parts, up to 52 feet, and the additional space permits pre-assembly of parts, a service that significantly improves the efficiency and success rate of field installations.
Open bays allow technicians to easily move the large FRP structures while two five and ten ton gantry cranes accommodate part weights. Drive in access to the manufacturing floor allows technicians to quickly load flatbed trailers using the cranes to manipulate the parts into place. Because the added space gives CA the flexibility to build a broader range of FRP parts, the composite builder is making equipment upgrades to support its innovative molding processes.
CA products range from vehicle and pedestrian bridges, large structural walls, roofs and panels, to high performance pads and mats and are especially suited to the infrastructure and corrosion industries,
“The opportunity to incubate at the National Composite Center (NCC) allowed us to grow our company before taking on the full operational costs associated with ownership of a manufacturing facility,” said Scott Reeve, President of CA. “Incubation also gave us the time we needed to determine the best mix of space and equipment to optimize part production as our infusion technology evolved. When we began to move through the process of a facility purchase, we received valuable assistance and support from community and government organizations such as NCC, CityWide Development Corporation and the City of Dayton’s Economic Development Office. Establishing ourselves in our new facility allows us to focus on customer product requirements and significantly enhance the level of service we’re able to provide.”
