The Composites Training Consortium (CTC) and Dark Matter Composites Ltd (DMC) have formed a working partnership and launched two new training courses.
The first is ‘Composites for Renewable Energies’ which addresses key issues regarding the design and production of blade assemblies used in wind, tidal and wave turbine systems.
‘We are responding to market demand from developing countries and new companies as well as advances in technology within the renewable energy supply chain and believe this will be a well attended course for the foreseeable future.’ Chris Little, Composites Training Consortium Ltd
The second course is ‘Composite Tooling Design & Construction’ which addresses the needs of numerous market sectors moving from metal to composite parts which require retraining of technicians, engineers and designers.
‘The move from metal to composite parts, as well as the continual advances within the composites industry, requires accelerated training in order to address shortfalls in the experience of personnel. We are committed to providing courses to a high standard to meet the needs of industry.’ Rodney Hansen, Dark Matter Composites Ltd.
Future plans for the partnership include further expansion of training resources, particularly the need for more portable tooling and equipment, fulfilling the needs of customers who require more extensive training on their own premises.
