BROETJE Automation has designed a fully developed, high-end handling system for fibre composites. The Pick-&-Place system is capable of picking, positioning and placing high-tech. textiles (eg. Carbon or glass fibre reinforcements) through the use of vacuum technology.

The company says that their latest design offers a number of advantages unique to the product. Key features include energy efficiency, a large variation of workpiece geometry and its lightweight design. However, the main advantage to the machine is its vacuum gripper, purposely designed for sensitive materials such as composites.

The vacuum gripper is said to be freely configurable, which Broetje say allows for an almost unlimited variety of geometries.
