BRG Townsend is participating in two technical sessions at ANTEC 2002, the annual technical conference of the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE) being held in San Francisco, CA, this week.

Louis N. Kattas, Director of BRG’s Performance Materials Group, will present a paper, “”Keys to Customer Loyalty in the Engineering Plastics Industry,”” as part of the marketing and management business development technical session at 10:30 a.m. on May 7. “”Traditionally, many resources are dedicated to the acquisition of new customers in the engineering plastics industry,”” says Kattas. “”While constant replenishment and expansion of the customer base is important, it is critical not to lose sight of the growth potential of existing customers.”” Kattas will discuss how the costs and risks involved in maintaining and growing these accounts are typically much lower than that for new account acquisition. “”As a result of thousands of recent interviews, BRG has been able to identify, by segment, the attributes that are prerequisites for new account penetration and those that drive existing customer loyalty. By aligning resources with customer loyalty preferences, suppliers can more profitably manage their marketing resources,”” says Kattas.

Robert Constable, senior consultant and project manager for the Performance Materials Group, will present a paper at the long and continuous glass thermoplastic composites technical session titled “”Long Glass Fiber Composites: Rapid Growth and Change”” at 9:30 a.m. on May 7. Constable will review the history of the long fiber reinforced thermoplastic (LFRT) composite market and give an up-to-date overview. He will also cover the new emerging in-line compounding technologies and what role they will play in this market. An overview of the current market and forecast will be provided.
