Brazil : Amanco invests

Amanco (Switzerland) controller of Akzos, and Fortilit, has acquired G-Tec, a plastic pipes company based at Ipeuna, Sao Paulo state. The plan is to supply reinforced resin pipes for the Brazilian water and sewage sectors, which moves R$1bil per year, and has Tigre as its major player. From 2001 onwards the expectation is a 10% growth per year in this sector. According to the development bank BNDES (Banco Nacional deDesenvolvimento Economico e Social) water and sewage sector will receive investments of R$40bil over the next 10 years. Amanco did not reveal the value of the deal.
