Boeing Places Order for 737 Spoilers from Composite Structures, LLC

Composite Structures, LLC has received a purchase order from Boeing Commercial Airplanes Group to produce wing spoilers for the advanced-design Next-Generation 737 aircraft. Under terms of the new purchase order, ship sets consisting of 12 spoilers per ship set have been added to an existing contract and are to be delivered by the end of December 2002. CSLLC has produced the spoilers for every 737 model that Boeing has ever built. The family of 737 aircraft is one of the most popular commercial passenger jetliners ever produced. More than 3,000 of the original and Classic 737s serve in airlines around the world. CSLLC has built more than 35,000 spoilers since production of the 737 began in 1967. “It is a great source of pride for us to be the supplier of record for one of the most successful commercial aviation programs in history,” said Brad Spahr, CEO of CSLLC. “We have maintained a consistent relationship with Boeing for more than three decades. We are proud of our products, standards, employees and leadership.” He added, “this new purchase order strengthens our position as CSLLC continues to seek strategic opportunities.” Composite Structures, LLC based in Monrovia, Calif. has been a supplier of metal bond and composite bond structures for the aerospace and defense industry for over 45 years. The firm will have estimated revenues of $60 million. The company has long-term relationships with multiple commercial OEMs including Bell Helicopter Textron, Boeing Commercial Airplanes Group, Boeing Military Aircraft and Missiles and Rolls Royce Allison. CSLLC maintains a diverse customer base with a 50-50 split between military and commercial work.
