Airtech Europe and Assocompositi completed hull and deck construction of a FIV 555 school boat by the resin infusion process live during Seatec at the beginning of this month..

Assocompositi initiated an international cooperation with the material suppliers needed for a resin infusion demonstration. More than 300 visitors attended and appreciated the high quality of the demonstration which was the major event of the “Strategies for transition to new materials and technologies in nautical production”.

The hull and deck normally moulded by wet lay-up as a single skin construction were re-engineered into a thin skin cored construction, moulded in a single shot resin infusion process.

The presentation of the resin infusion process enabled professionals to collect their first practical experience and to realise how efficient and cost effective this technique is.
