NetComposites has co-organised a Biocomposites Showcase and Forum at Composites Europe to promote the latest developments in natural, sustainable composite materials. It involves four biocomposites collaborative European R&D projects, three of which have involved NetComposites.
The Composites Europe show will be held at Neue Messe Stuttgart, Germany on 27-29 October 2009.
Hall C2, Stand E25
Four European projects – Biocomp, Biostruct, Natex and Woody – will be displaying innovative biocomposite materials, processes and products that have been developed through collaborations between leading industrial companies and research institutes throughout Europe. Some of these projects will be disseminating their developments for the first time. Visitors will have the opportunity to learn about the latest developments in biocomposites, find out how they can get involved and discuss future commercial applications and relationships.
The Biocomposites Showcase has been created by NetComposites, EuCIA and Reed Exhibitions.
Biomaterials Forum – ‘Sustainable Composite Materials of the Future: Development Through Collaboration’
09.30-13.00 Thursday 29th October 2009
Hall 4, Stand No. A78
At the Biomaterials Forum presentations will be given on the latest developments in sustainable composite materials, processes and applications by leading experts in the field. The forum will focus on the latest innovations achieved through collaborative R&D projects within Europe, including enhanced wood plastic composites (WPC), biocomposite injection and extrusion moulding compounds, composite resins derived from biomass and high-performance, aligned natural fibre textiles. Each of the projects involved in the Biocomposites Showcase at C2/E25 – Biocomp, Biostruct, Natex and Woody – will be presenting their results in more detail.
An additional presentation will be given by the UK collaborative project Combine, which developed commingled, high-performance natural fibre-thermoplastic biocomposite materials recently launched commercially as Biotex (stand C2/D02).
The Biomaterials Forum has been organised by NetComposites, EuCIA and Reed Exhibitions and will be moderated by Dr Brendon Weager, Technical Manager at NetComposites.
