A major $200 million (BD75.6m) fibreglass manufacturing facility is being established at the Bahrain International Investment Park (BIIP) at the Salman Industrial City, Hidd.
According to a reort in the Gulf Daily News, the Chinese Chongqing Polycomp International Corporation (CPIC) and Saudi Arabian S & A Abahsain Company are behind the move, which will create up to 1,200 new jobs.
Established in 1991, publicly listed CPIC is one of the largest fibreglass manufacturers in China with a capacity of 420,000 tonnes a year, from 10 plants operating in three locations in China. The group employs 5,000 people. S & A Abahsain was founded in Al Khobar in 1947 and is one of the top 50 companies in Saudi Arabia.
