ATL Composites’ products and technology have received further international standards recognition, this time from the German certification body, Germanischer Lloyd.
After visiting the ATL facility to audit production facilities and techniques, Germanischer Lloyd issued Shop Approval for The Production of Composite Panels, and allocated ATL Approval No. KBZ 1095 HH. This stands alongside the Approval ATL received from Lloyd’s Register of London for their KINETIX R118 Infusion System.
DuFLEX Composite Panels were developed by ATL in the early 1990’s to reduce construction time and optimise structural weight in the production of lightweight composites structures in the marine, transportation, architectural and industrial markets. Over the years, DuFLEX has been widely accepted in the marine and transportation industries, and hundreds of projects have incorporated the system both in Australia and internationally.
DuFLEX panels are made with rigid end-grain balsa, and structural linear or cross-linked PVC cores, laminated with a high performance epoxy resin and reinforced with multi-axial E-fibreglass. For projects where superior stiffness and weight savings are required, ATL can also manufacture custom DuFLEX panels with combinations of carbon skins cored with structural or non-structural foams, select-grade end-grain balsa, or aramid honeycomb cores.
