Ashland Composite Polymers has released a new boat MACT-compliant line of colour gel coats, Maxguard 33LE.

Maxguard 33LE colour gel coats feature Ashland’s patented LE (low emission) technology and are formulated for use in marine applications.

“Maxguard 33LE colour gel coats have 33 percent maximum hazardous air pollutant (HAP) content, ensuring boat MACT compliance with the added benefit of reducing blushing over standard marine gel coat formulations,” said Andrew Beer, global marine market manager, Ashland Composite Polymers. “These gel coats also have improved weathering and excellent application properties. Available in custom colour matches to meet the colour trends of our customers’ products, this is another example of how Ashland continually innovates to provide value to the marine market.”

Ashland Composite Polymers highlighted its line of Maxguard 33LE colour gel coats, as well as other gel coats and resins for the marine industry, at the International BoatBuilders’ Exhibition and Conference (IBEX) trade show this week in Miami Beach, Fla.
