Ashland Specialty Chemical Company is launching its AME premium marine resin to the European market.

“Ashland’s acquisition of Neste in 2001 has not only paved the way logistically to make this AME resin launch a viable operation, but it also has given Ashland Composite Polymers the means to introduce premium automotive and corrosion resin products within these markets,” said Larry Baker, vice president and general manager, Ashland Composite Polymers. “The ability to actively supply and serve European customers with premium products is an ongoing priority for Ashland.”

AME marine resins are used to construct high performance marine composites where superior strength, impact resistance, water resistance and outstanding profile are required. Mechanical properties allow marine manufacturers to produce a durable, lightweight product that can be faster on the water, while improving the vessels’ fuel efficiency.

“AME resins have created a loyal customer base in the U.S. that should translate into a strong international brand as the marine industry becomes more and more global,” said Baker.
