ArmorWorks, the provider of advanced armour products based in Tempe, Arizona, will receive the national Tibbetts Award for technology excellence.

This national award, presented by the U.S. Small Business Administration, recognizes the very best in Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR). ArmorWorks is one of 55 companies in the U.S. to receive this award and was selected from the over 4,000 companies that receive contracts and grants under the SBIR program each year. The company will accept the award on September 26 in Washington, D.C.

“”In only two years time we took technology from the laboratory to delivery of advanced composite armour products,”” said Bill Perciballi, president and founder of ArmorWorks. “”We recently celebrated ArmorWorks’ tenth anniversary. This award recognizes the achievements of the ArmorWorks team and our dedication to developing life-saving technology.””

ArmorWorks used SBIR funding to develop innovative technologies such as a high-performance composite armour. ArmorWorks advanced composite armour technology is already commercialized and in production for body armour, vehicle armour, and aircraft armour used by all branches of the U.S. Military.
