AOC states it has developed a line of resins designed specifically for carbon fibre reinforcements.
The company explains the R058 series of epoxy vinyl ester resins creates lightweight composite parts with exceptional strength-to-weight ratios.
According to AOC, the R058 series combines the performance of epoxy resins with the processing speed of unsaturated polyester resins. The resins are designed for vacuum infusion and resin transfer moulding (RTM). The resin series has a room temperature cure and chemical resistance over a broad range of temperatures.
“The R058 series is an excellent choice for applications requiring lightweight and high-performance laminate,” says Mike Dettre, AOC’s Business Manager. “They don’t require post-curing or autoclaving, which makes them faster to process than most pure epoxy resins. And that’s critical for high-volume applications.”
