From September 3, 2002, AOC will increase its prices by US $0.03 per pound on all resins and gel coats in North America. This increase is to offset significant raw material price increases.

The largest component of polyester resin is styrene and its cost has increased over 50% in 2002. This factor, coupled with increases in other raw materials, has impacted costs negatively. There does not appear to be any short-term relief of raw material increases.

AOC is committed to its leadership role in the composites industry. AOC has invested greatly in technology, developing low-styrene resins, high performing resins, a complete range of corrosion resistant and fire retardant products, and Atryl® Tough Class A systems for SMC/BMC.

AOC continues to invest for the long-term growth and health of the composites industry, by providing innovation and capacity to meet growing demand, we remain committed to offering customers the best overall value in the market place.
