Following on from last week’s announcement of price increases, AOC, Cook Composites & Polymers, Hexion and Interplastic will all raise prices.

The Composite Polymers business of Hexion Specialty Chemicals will implement a price increase of $0.05 per pound for all Unsaturated Polyester resins, effective for all products shipped on / or after June 1, 2007.

Interplastic Corporation’s Thermoset Resins Division is raising the price of CoREZYN and Silmar brand products $0.05 per pound for shipments on or after May 25, 2007. This includes all vinyl ester, polyester, specialty resins, gel coats, colorants, and putties

Cook Composites and Polymers will enact a price increase of $.05 per pound for all resin and gel coat products shipped on or after May 28, 2007.

According to CCP Vice President of Composites Paul Colonna, the cost escalation of raw material feedstocks in general – including, among others, benzene (a component of styrene) and glycols – has driven the need for this price adjustment.

In addition to their announcement of an increase in the North American market last week, AOC will also increase prices by € 0.10 kg or €100 per metric ton on all resin products sold in Europe shipped on or after May 21, 2007.
