Anteon Awarded $24m US Air Force Structural Technology Research Contract

Anteon International has been awarded a $24M contract to conduct affordable composite technology evaluation and analysis for air force systems.

Following the six year contract, awarded by the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory, Anteon will conduct research, development, and demonstrations of new aerospace structural technologies.

Joe Kampf, Anteon President and CEO stated, “”Anteon is proud to support the Air Force under the Structural Technology Evaluation and Analysis Program (STEAP). The ability to support new aerospace structural technologies is key to the development of new warfighter capabilities and advancing the Air Force’s mission.””

The Virginia based company will develop areas such as unitized composite and metallic structures, affordable composite technology, reliability and probability analysis, failure prediction, structural technology integration concepts, corrosion, crack growth assessment techniques, aero-elasticity, and extreme environment structures.

Individual task orders will be used to perform the related research and development programs. The tasks orders shall be used to perform various long/short term quick reaction studies, test planning, model fabrication/modification, testing, analyses, assessments, evaluations, research projects pertinent to the structure division and the Air Vehicles Directorate. Each task order is to be a set duration and of a unique technical nature. The Air Force can issue delivery orders totalling up to the maximum amount indicated above, although actual requirements may necessitate less than the amount above.
