Turkish company Subor Pipe Industry & Trade Inc. of which Amiantit Group owns 50 percent, is supplying 32,500 metres of GRP pipes for the main water supply in Erbil Ifraz, Iraq.
The order is worth SAR 32.625 million ($8.7 million).
Subor submitted its quotation and bid package to all seven suppliers invited to bid by the contractor, FluorAMEC. In the decision making process, FluorAMEC said that it recognized the experience of Subor and the quality of Subor products manufactured using Amiantit’s Flowtite technology.
Production started on 3rd January 2005 at Subor’s manufacturing plant at ªanliurfa in Turkey and the pipes will be delivered within 15 weeks.
Flowtite is the technology predominantly used by the pipe manufacturing industry for the production of glass reinforced polyester (GRP) pipes, and is one of a number of pipe manufacturing technologies for which Amiantit holds the world patents.
Amiantit licenses these technologies to group subsidiaries, joint venture partnership companies and other manufacturers in countries throughout the world.
