In its ongoing efforts to become a more environmentally responsible company, Amber Composites has said that its facilities in the UK have received ISO 14001 certification.
The ISO 14001 standard is an internationally accepted specification for environmental management systems created by the International Organization for Standardization to help organizations minimize the affect of their operations on the environment.
As part of the efforts to achieve this certification, Amber Composites has established an environmental management system to ensure that the company’s activities, products and services have minimal impact on or risk to the environment. Amber’s system now monitors the company’s energy efficiency, resource conservation, waste management and chemical control, and includes targets for reducing overall environmental impact.
“”Since the acquisition of Amber two and a half years ago, we have invested heavily in new products, production systems and overall quality. By achieving ISO 14001 certification we are demonstrating that we are also committed to minimizing the impact we have on our surroundings””, said Jonathan McQueen, CEO of Amber Composites. “”This is another milestone reflecting our goal of continual improvement at Amber.””
