Advanced Engineering, the UK’s largest meeting place for engineering professionals, is back at the NEC, Birmingham, UK, on the 2-3 November.

The show will host the largest open conference of its kind, spanning the key industry sectors of composites, aerospace, automotive, motorsport, marine, civil engineering and performance metals.

With the total global composites sector said to be worth an estimated £80 billion, it is no wonder that Composites Engineering is one of the most exciting parts of Advanced Engineering 2016. The ever-changing world of advanced materials means that breakthroughs in stronger, more reliable, or lighter products are happening all the time. With this in mind, the show is committed to providing the perfect platform for visitors to explore the latest innovations in composite materials, the most up-to-date equipment used to produce the composites and the research and development that takes place at every level of the industry.

Composites Engineering 2016, the UK’s only event dedicated to composite materials, design and processing, will host an array of world leading exhibitors, many of whom will be using the show to present the latest technologies to the UK market including, NetComposites, Composites UK, PREA Ltd, Swift Composites Ltd, Irish Centre for Composites Research (IComp), epm Technology, Scott Bader and Gazechim Composites UK.

As well as a leading exhibition, it boasts a dedicated Forum which will play host to a range of educational presentations from experts in the field. The University of Liverpool Velocipede Team will be presenting ARION2, the aerodynamic recumbent bike, which helped the team break the men’s and women’s British Land Speed Record for a human-powered vehicle. Knowledge Transfer Network will consider R&D funding opportunities for Composites. While, 3M will explore ‘Adhesive Bonding: Innovations in Advanced Engineering Design and Assembly Solutions’.

The show has also received support from a series of key industry partners, many of whom will be exhibiting and hosting educational sessions live at the show. This will give visitors unique access to an array of world renowned composites organisations, including NetComposites, Composites UK, National Composites Centre, EPSRC, RAPRA, CIM and BINDT.

Advanced Engineering 2016 offers visitors the opportunity to explore other sectors. For example, Rail Alliance, the rail sector’s largest dedicated B2B networking organisation, is on board as an official show supporter. As part of the relationship, Rail Alliance will host its own ‘Rail Technology Hub’ and run dedicated presentations on the subject of composites in rail.

New for 2016, The Manufacturer will run its Smart Factory Expo in partnership with Advanced Engineering, as part of a series of events to examine Britain’s response to Industry 4.0. The Manufacturer Live events include the two-day exhibition, The Manufacturer Top 100, The Manufacturer Annual Leaders Conference and The Manufacturer MX Awards.

The Advanced Engineering badge will also allow visitors access to The Manufacturer Smart Factory Expo and Lab Innovations, the UK’s only event dedicated to laboratory professionals.

Composites Engineering 2016 is free-to-attend and will take place at Advanced Engineering 2016 on 2-3 November at Birmingham’s NEC.
