Acrosoma presented their 3-D sandwich panel, aimed at combining minimum weight, maximum strength and minimal thermal expansion, at the Stade Convention last week.
Acrosoma has developed a technology to produce tri-dimensional stitched sandwich panels that have less weight, high strength and minimal thermal expansion. They have also performed theoretical and applied research to explore the mechanical and thermal behaviour of tri-dimensional sandwich panels.
A horizontal transport tool made out of composite Acrosoma panels is now transporting and positioning the covers of the wing of the Airbus A350 in the Airbus production hall in Stade and Illescas. As well as aircraft production, Acrosoma panels are now being used in wind turbine rotor blades, truck trailers and other structural applications.
