The eighth biennial Advanced Composites in Construction (ACIC) conference will be taking place on 5-7 September 2017, at the University of Sheffield, UK, and abstracts are now invited on relevant topics.

ACIC unites researchers and practising engineers and focuses on topics within the construction industry which highlight the use of fibre reinforced polymer (FRP) composite materials in new and existing all-FRP structures as well as strengthening, refurbishment and reinforcement applications in traditional infrastructure. The aim is to promote a stimulating exchange of scientific and technical information on the rapidly changing scene of advanced composites in construction.

Abstracts should initially be limited to 250 words and must include contact details of the corresponding author and any affiliation of co-authors. These can be submitted via the website or emailed to info@netcomposites.com, by 04 November 2016.

Technical presentations provide an opportunity to impart research and knowledge on materials and products, cutting-edge applications, design protocol, case studies and statistical analysis, and all submissions are reviewed by a committee of experts.

Proposed sessions for the conference include, but are not limited to:

  • FRP Structures.

  • Material Properties and Natural Materials.

  • FRP Reinforcement or Prestressing.

  • Durability/Elevated Temperature.

  • Strengthening of Reinforced Concrete.

  • Confinement and Prestressed Systems.

  • Strengthening of Masonry or Steel.

  • FRP Structures and Joints.

Key dates are:
