3TEX’s preforms are being used in the design and construction of a 45 foot Sonic USA Racing Boat. The new boat, known as Pay 2 Play, is owned by Byron Unger – a world class racer who resides in Apex, North Carolina.

“”We are very excited about advancing the use of our patented fiberglass and carbon preforms with a high performance boat builder and market leader like Sonic USA,”” said Brad Lienhart, CEO of 3TEX. Located in Hollywood, Florida, Sonic USA is recognized as a premier builder of individualized performance power boats. Through a long-term strategic partnership, SONIC USA expects to annually produce more than 200 premier 26-45 foot class boats using 3TEX composite products. Through the use of preforms and a vacuum infusion process, 3TEX believes boat hull weight can be reduced by up to 20-30%, while improving overall durability and impact resistance.

“”We are very excited about the potential of building lighter, faster boats with 3TEX 3WEAVE(TM) preforms and new ‘state of the art’ vacuum infusion processes, while not reducing boat safety or durability,”” said SONIC USA owner Richard Hewett.
