Export Credit Norway has awarded Birkeland, Norway-based 3B its Export Award 2017.

According to Export Credit Norway, 3B Norway has an export rate of almost 100%, and three out of 10 wind turbine blades manufactured and installed in Europe are made of glass fibre delivered by the plant. 3B Norway also manufactures glass fibre for sale and further processing into products for the transport and automotive industries.

“The company’s factory has a long and proud history in Birkeland and the inner Agder region,” says Jury Chair John G. Bernander. “It is a cornerstone company in its local community, and with the aid of its skilled staff has successfully completed a vital restructuring through the development of new products. Its growing market share and increased exports and profits make 3B Fibreglass a worthy winner.”

The award aims to recognise Norwegian exporters that innovate, have a track record of success and manage to create value in Norway through activities in foreign markets.
