3B will spotlight a wide range of sustainable, ground-breaking composite end-use applications highlighting the company’s innovative and entrepreneurial spirit at JEC 2011.
One such solution – the pultruded reinforced composite application enabling the distinctive contemporary design for the Sheraton Hotel at Malpensa Airport near Milan, Italy was recognized by JEC and won the Innovation Award in the Construction category.
In addition to this, 3B, together with GASTANK Sweden AB and Greenes Group in the Netherlands, were runners-up in the JEC Innovation Award in the Transportation category. A car supplied by Greenes Group fitted with CNG tanks made with HiPer-tex fibre will be displayed at the JEC Show.
3B will also highlight an inventive award-winning solution for water and sewer applications which incorporates 90 per cent recycled materials exemplifying 3B’s commitment to developing applications that minimize the environmental footprint of the product.
One of Europe’s major manufacturers of fibre glass reinforcements, 3B operates two state-of-the-art eco-friendly plants in Battice, Belgium where it also has a Research and Development Centre, and in Birkeland, Norway. In addition to these key production facilities, 3B has developed and established a presence in both Asia and North America to locally support their customers’ global expansion.
3B’s product portfolio includes chopped strand and direct rovings for both thermoplastic and thermoset composites, continuous filament mat and wet chopped strands specifically engineered for non-woven applications.
