3A Composites’ Airex AG has introduced FlexiCut, a new finishing option for Airex foam core materials.

3A say that intelligent grooving design, latest resin flow and wet-out know-how combined with cutting edge foam conversion technology make FlexiCut an extremely flexible and cost-effective finishing option.

According to 3A, unique to the new FlexiCut are the very thin grooves with a width of just 0.7mm,designed to considerably reducing resin consumption compared to conventional sawed ContourKore or Double Cut configurations. The asymmetric cut depth configuration (85% and 20% respectively of the sheet’s thickness) is said to offer very good sheet contourability both in positive and negative direction, whilst the grooves and holes in the groove intersections ensure a good resin flow and distribution.

FlexiCut is intended for hand lay-up, resin infusion and pre-pregs.
