Launched in 2017, JEC Startup Booster is the leading and unique start-up competition in the world of composites in which hundreds of start-ups participate to pitch their breakthrough innovations in front of a jury of experts from international groups and companies involved in the making of innovative materials.
JEC STARTUP BOOSTER KEY FIGURES
For the first time, JEC Startup Booster will go on a worldwide tour in two different regions of the world – America and Asia– starting at JEC Forum Chicago, in the US, for the first leg of the competition in June. The second stop will be at JEC Asia in Seoul, in South Korea, in November. The final leg of the competition will take place at JEC World in Paris, in France from 3-5 March 2020.
The competition is open to entrepreneurs with innovative projects, SMEs and academics divided in two categories: Process (Design, Manufacturing, Industry 4.0, Smart industry) and Product ( new composite materials, including hybrid materials and IoT; New application markets for composites).
In each region, up to 10 start-ups will be selected to pitch in front of a jury of experts and leading industry players. Then three winners will be announced after the pitching sessions and will receive winning packages ranging from gold to silver and bronze. The packages include among others: a full access to JEC World 2020 (with flight & accommodation covered) for the Gold Winners with a booth in the JEC World Start-up Village and the opportunity to compete with the other finalists; the silver and bronze winners will receive a free pass and a booth as well.
