For the 2019 edition, JEC World has organised a full program of conferences, round tables and dedicated showcases to present trends & innovations within the Construction, Automotive and Aerospace Sectors.
Each sector will benefit from:
JEC World has developed these programs to address industry challenges across the sectors.
The aerospace industry is one of the biggest users of composite materials, but where do the next-generation opportunities lie? How will the composites industry meet aerospace demand for higher performance materials and designs with increased functionality and technologies to enable high rate production?
Looking at the construction industry, architects and builders alike are always seeking for more flexibility, level of freedom, lightweight, low energy consumption, infrastructure, time savings for repair and installation… Composites applications in civil engineering, building and bridges are numerous to reduce installation time, handling, repair and lifecycle costs, reduce weight and improve corrosion and durability.
For the automotive industry, the Mobility of the future will be impacted by megatrends like autonomous systems, electrification and other alternative drivetrains, digitalisation and big data leading to a general diversification of the market and a shift to integrated solutions. New materials and material solutions will have a significant role to adapt to and support these new trends with new technology solutions for future mobility concepts.
The full program will include technical conferences, round tables, innovative area and pre-arranged business meetings. To name a few events of this program:
Tuesday 12 March
Wednesday 13 March
During the three days of the show, the Composites Exchange Programs include workshops for aerospace, automotive and construction and provide sessions including ‘Boosting AFP Material Efficiency with Fibre Patch Placement’ and ’Innovative Solid Lubricant made from Water-Soluble Resin’ (Aerospace), ‘The Trends for Automotive Interior Applications with Natural Composites’, ‘The Simulation Materials Data Workflow for Composites in Automotive Product Development’ and ‘Lightweigthing Technologies for Heavy Trucks (Automotive) in addition to workshops for building, among which include technology enabling manufacturers with novel monolithic panels for external cladding applications.
In terms of innovation, automotive professionals will discover within the Auto & Transport Planet, sponsored by Hexion, Von Roll’ and Pure Michigan, 50+ innovative parts from engine parts to cars, including an Audi A8 chassis, a carbon roof and three-wheeled vehicle.
Aerospace professionals will discover 40+ innovative parts within the Aero & Space planet, reducing costs and raising production rates with workshops sponsored by Huntsman and Saint Gobain and with Toray, Porcher Industries.
Building professionals will discover 30+ innovative parts within the Building Planet, from tools to a real house made of 100% composite materials, in addition to solutions for bridges and anti-flooding barriers.
JEC World is pleased to welcome a number of Innovation Awards finalists from the aforementioned sectors; winners of which will be announced on Wednesday at 4.00pm on the Agora stage.
Along with all visitors, aerospace, building and automotive professionals can discover within the 1,300 exhibitors solutions and processes dedicated to their challenges, as well as join the Composites in Action groups for both Automotive, Construction and Aerospace; presenting the most recent scientific and technological developments in their sectors. Professionals can also participate in the official business meetings program to meet with pre-qualified companies.
