TRB Lightweight Structures Selected as a Supplier for Elekta

TRB Lightweight Structures is delighted to announce it has been selected by Elekta as one of its top twenty suppliers. The company will manufacture a lightweight flooring solution which will be used in the rooms, or bunkers, that accommodate Elekta’s Unity MR-linac.

The specialty flooring can withstand excessive weight distribution and is hinged to allow access to different parts of the machine.

A leader in precision radiation medicine, Elekta is committed to ensuring everyone in the world with cancer has access to – and benefits from – more precise, personalised radiotherapy treatments. Elekta’s latest innovation, Elekta Unity, is the world’s first high-field MR-linac and has the potential to transform how clinicians treat cancer.

Andrew Snow, Technical Sales Manager (Industrial) of TRB Lightweight Structures, commented, “We are absolutely delighted to be working with such an innovative and forward-thinking company and are proud that Elekta identified our lightweight composite products as a real asset to the manufacturing of its products. We have previously worked with the company as a supplier for their Gamma Knife radiosurgery system, and to now be selected as a supplier for their Unity MR-linac is excellent. TRB recently attended a supplier day at Elekta’s new UK headquarters in Crawley; it is a most impressive and futuristic building, and the company is clearly investing heavily in its future. We are very proud to be supporting Elekta on this journey.”
