ACMA and EPTA Announce the Keynote and Detailed Program for the North American Pultrusion Conference

09 January 2019

After a sold-out success in 2017, ACMA and EPTA join forces again to host the acclaimed North American Pultrusion Conference, focused on broader application and expansion of pultrusion technology in the composites manufacturing industry.

Nearly 200 composites manufacturing industry professionals will assemble in Rosemont, Illinois, US on 8-10 April, for the North American Pultrusion Conference, produced by the American Composites Manufacturers Association (ACMA) and the European Pultrusion Technology Association (EPTA). After a successful sold-out inaugural conference in 2017, the event will return after a two-year break.

“While pultrusion is providing a wide variety of solutions in different markets, ACMA recognises that there are more markets to penetrate. This conference builds the business case for pultrusion, delivering the latest knowledge and technical resources to current pultruders as well as OEMs that want to learn more about how pultruded products can make their products better,” said ACMA President, Tom Dobbins.

Dr. Elmar Witten, Secretary of EPTA stated, “While some leading companies use pultrusion to stay competitive and deliver exceptional, innovative products and services to end-users, there are many OEMs, suppliers, manufacturers and engineers that are not using pultrusion. The North American Pultrusion Conference meets an important need to educate and inform the industry about pultrusion.”

The confirmed educational program for the conference is now available online at www.acmanet.org/2019pultrusion. The program will feature sessions on pultrusion technology in existing markets such as marine, automotive, aerospace, and infrastructure, as well as new applications and technology.

In addition to the education sessions, Keynote presenter Steve Gonzalez, Director of the Major Projects Unit - Americas at Finnish-based elevator manufacturer KONE, will share his predictions for the future of pultrusion and detail the development of UltraRope, a pultruded carbon fibre cabling system for elevators. Gonzalez is a mechanical engineer and patent holder with more than 20 years’ experience in the design, construction, analysis and optimisation of commercial and industrial building systems, with special focus on buildings’ utilities and infrastructure.

Early Bird registration rates expire on 18 March 2019. Learn more about the conference and registration details at http://www.acmanet.org/2019pultrusion.
