Scott Bader, a manufacturer of gelcoats, resins and adhesives, will showcase its recently launched Crestafire and Crestafix product ranges at this year’s Advanced Engineering show.
The Crestafix rapid cure bonding pastes have been developed to be strong, light, and tough, and suitable for a variety of key markets including marine, automotive and land transportation. Crestafire covers all products that offer fire, smoke and toxic fume (FST) performance for manufacturing fire retardant (FR) composite parts to stringent fire standards required in many building and construction, passenger rail, and land transport applications. The extensive range includes: FR gelcoats and intumescent topcoats; FR structural adhesives; a variety of FR rated open and closed mould, pultrusion and filament winding resins, compatible with glass, carbon and aramid fibre reinforcements.
Neil Gray, Global Market Manager, FST Performance Products will be presenting 'Scott Bader Crestafire systems for demanding FST applications' from 12.15-12.30 on 31 October as part of the Composites UK ‘Fire – the hot topic’ forum.
Also expected to be a focus of discussion is Scott Bader’s Matched Tooling system which offers a complete composite tooling and moulding solution. Visitors will be able to see and touch a mould, supplied by East Coast Fibreglass Supplies, made using Crystic tooling resin RTR4010PA and tooling gelcoat 15PA. This mould is used to make robust lightweight life raft containers for use by yachts in ocean racing.
Other key products and services include: Crystic Ecogel ultra low styrene spray gelcoats, including the ‘zero’ styrene Ecogel S0 PA grade; Crestomer and Crestabond structural adhesives; Crestapol resins for producing tough lightweight CFRP components; and the rapid GelTint service which can mix gelcoats in a wide range of RAL, BS, NCS and custom colours.
Scott Bader will exhibit on Stand R96 at Advanced Engineering on 31 October-1 November in Birmingham, UK.
