Velox and its partner Pentac Polymer will present thermoplastic lightweighting solutions for automotive engineering at the International Conference on Automotive Plastics, CEP Auto, in Barcelona, Spain, on 27-28 June 2018.
Dr Georg Kirschbaum, Business Development Manager at Pentac, will give a presentation on the potential to reduce the weight of reinforced polyamide compounds, with solutions that enable savings of up to 40% in weight compared with parts injected with conventional nylon. Through the use of different base polymers with reduced density reinforcements and fillers weight savings of 30% or more have already been achieved. For example, savings of several 100 grams of weight could be achieved by using optimised material formulations compared to previously used polymer compounds for motor covers, the company reports.
“We are looking forward to an intense and fruitful exchange on cutting-edge technical developments in the industry at CEP Auto,” says Albert Kirchner, Country Manager Spain and Portugal at Velox.
CEP Auto is organised by the Centro Español de Plásticos.
Stratasys announces it is deepening its partnership with Boom Supersonic – the Colorado-based company building history’s fastest supersonic airliner. In signing a seven-year agreement extension, the companies are further accelerating adoption of additive manufacturing for 3D-printed flight hardware.
Tecniplas is once again part of Fispal Tecnologia, the main food and beverage fair in Latin America – from 25-28 June, at the São Paulo Expo, Brazil.
Michelman will introduce visitors to the JEC Forum Chicago Conference & Business Meetings to its portfolio of fibre sizing solutions that help industry exploit the benefits of composites: design freedom, consolidation of parts, and integration of functionality while meeting lightweighting initiatives.
