Porcher Industries Acquires US Plant

Porcher Industries subsidiary BGF Industries has completed the acquisition of a new US plant to help satisfy increasing demand from automotive OEMs for the manufacture and supply of glass fibre insulation materials, automotive exhaust components and subassemblies.

The plant will be operated by BGF Industries and is situated on a 63-acre plot in Altavista, Virginia. The site provides scope to expand the existing 144,000 ft2 facility further as forecasted growth continues and other application opportunities arise.  

Transfer of machinery and equipment, including die cutting and CNC machines, and welding and part forming work centres, is underway. It is expected that the plant will be fully operational within Q1 2018.

The acquisition has opened up more than 40 new positions in addition to those existing operatives and management that joined from the previous owner of the site.
