Marte Presents Resin Range at Advanced Engineering 2017

With an installed production capacity of 25,000 t/year, Italian company Marte has developed unsaturated polyester resins for a wide variety of applications.

The range includes produces orthophthalic, isophthalic, DCPD, low styrene content and styrene-free polyester resins.

The company focuses on tailor-made formulations and consistent quality. Products include:

  • Ares P 167 LV, a styrene-free resin said to be ideal as a carrier for pigments for production of colour pastes. It has low viscosity and high stability;
  • ARES P 255 ASL 7-M, an iso/NPG acrylic modified resin for solid surface which delivers good wetting of fillers and good compatibility with pigments. The resin shows high chemical resistance, good mechanical properties and low shrinkage;
  • ARES P 945 N 15, an ortho-DCPD resin for hand-made panel production, said to exhibit excellent wetting of fibreglass and good mechanical properties, good elongation and high dimensional stability. The resin has a limited styrene content and a controlled exothermic peak.

ARES resins are used for gelcoat production as a result of their excellent colour and transparency and good compatibility with different pigments and fillers. Resins have very low yellowing and good weathering properties. UV-stabilised resins are available for many industrial and marine applications.

Marte focuses on the development of eco-friendly solutions and its technical staff welcome customers’ requests for tailor-made products.

Marte will exhibit on Stand P143 at Advanced Engineering 2017 on 1-2 November in Birmingham, UK.
