Waterjet Machine Brings Fast Return on Investment

A waterjet cutting machine from Water Jet Sweden has delivered efficiency and savings, and a fast return on investment, for automation specialist Concept Sweden.

Concept Sweden, situated in Gothenburg, mainly serves customers in the plastics industry, designing, manufacturing and installing production equipment tailored to specific needs.

"We looked at where we had our biggest purchases and realised we bought waterjet cutting services for SEK1.5 million last year," says Mathias Ytreeide, Production Manager at Concept Sweden. "We thought it was about time to find another solution."

Concept Sweden selected the Water Jet Sweden multi-purpose system T-model Advanced, which the company has found to be easy to use.

"It has been very successful," says Ytreeide. "It's quick and easy to prepare jobs, and the machine keeps running while we’re doing other jobs at the same time."

The machine is said to offer a clean and quiet cutting operation.

After half a year Concept Sweden has seen positive effects from the investment. The move to manufacturing waterjet parts in-house has proven profitable, and by having its own waterjet cutting machine the company has also improved its service for existing customers.

"Most parts we cut with the waterjet are for our own products, but we also do occasional cutting jobs for our existing customers," reports Ytreeide. "Often it is quicker for us to fix the parts that they need rather than to go to someone else who doesn’t know their product. It is both simpler and cheaper."
