Gurit has won a new contract for the production and supply of carbon fibre exterior body panels to an Italian premium automotive OEM.
The two-year contract is worth around CHF9 million and supplies are scheduled to start in January 2018.
As part of the contract, Gurit will supply carbon fibre-based hoods and further exterior body panels for the high performance car. The parts will be manufactured with Gurit's patented press technology and are based on a new material and design concept. Gurit's Composite Engineering department was involved in the structural design of the parts, including finite element analysis (FEA) for mechanical loading performance and head impact predictions.
The parts will be produced at Gurit's Hungarian plant.
Cobra International will showcase a range of composite products at CAMX 2018, including carbon fibre components for the automotive, transportation, marine, water sports and luxury sectors.
The Metyx Hungary factory, located in Kaposvár, has recently expanded its warehousing facilities, adding an additional 3,024 m2 of enclosed storage space for composite technical fabrics, packaging and FRP tooling.
After the collapse of a drinking water pipeline in downtown Amsterdam, the Netherlands, Insituform was contracted to reline a close to 100 year old pipe underneath one of the canals. Water was restored successfully within five days, with minimal impact on traffic and the environment.
