CAMX – The Composites and Advanced Materials Expo has announced the finalists for the fourth annual CAMX Award, which recognises two cutting-edge innovations that will significantly impact composites and advanced materials.
The award is divided into two categories – Combined Strength and Unsurpassed Innovation. The Combined Strength Award acknowledges a product that incorporates advanced materials that solves a problem through teamwork and collaboration, and the Unsurpassed Innovation Award celebrates a product with a design that incorporates low cost materials for high-volume applications that can change the outlook of a particular market.
The winning entries will be announced and presented during the General Session at CAMX on 12 September at the Orange County Convention Centre in Orlando, Florida, US. This year's finalists will also be on display in the CAMX Exhibit Hall.

The Latin American Composite Materials Association (ALMACO) is organising the event Pultrusion – Innovations, Solutions and Trends at the Petrobras Research Center (CENPES) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on 23 August.

Kordsa recently announced the acquisition of US companies Fabric Development Inc (FDI) and Textile Products Inc (TPI), which provide advanced composite materials to the commercial aviation industry. Kordsa sees this US$100 million investment as an important step towards reinforcing its composite market position in the US as well as becoming a strong player in the growing aviation industry supply chain.
