Superior Composites has started construction to expand the company’s Vanceburg, Kentucky, US, composites manufacturing facility.
The project, which is expected to add 20,000 square feet to the existing facility, is part of a $2.5 million investment to create greater manufacturing flexibility and expand research and development capabilities.
The expansion is also anticipated to add more than 30 new jobs to the current workforce and have a positive economic impact in the region.
“We’re excited about the expansion to our facility and committed to leading the way for innovative composites applications,” said Jason Takac, COO of Superior Composites. “The expansion is part of Superior Composites’ commitment to develop new products and unique applications for composite reinforcements and veils. Our facilities must evolve with the changing needs of our immediate customers and the end use customers for our products.”
This expansion comes less than a year after Stonewood Capital Management announced the purchase of the composites business of Superior Fibers by Stonewood’s newly formed affiliate Superior Composite.
Company leaders expect to complete the expansion by summer’s end.
