Strongwell Corporation has been recognised by the Southwest Virginia Technology Council, winning the ‘Advanced Manufacturing of the Year’ award for Strongwell’s overall achievements in advanced manufacturing in the southwest Virginia region, US.
Strongwell explains that it is actively involved in numerous efforts to promote the advancement of manufacturing and manufacturing careers. Strongwell’s participations ranges from involvement in efforts such as the Institute for Advanced Manufacturing Innovation (IACMI), a multi-year $250 MM domestic public-private partnership to create product and employment growth in advanced composite manufacturing, to the ongoing promotion of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education.
David Ring, who accepted the award on behalf of Strongwell, stated in his remarks, “To be an advanced manufacturer requires a team of committed people as well as a leadership team dedicated to the success and advancement of its products and its employees.”
Launched in 2017, JEC Startup Booster is the leading and unique start-up competition in the world of composites in which hundreds of start-ups participate to pitch their breakthrough innovations in front of a jury of experts from international groups and companies involved in the making of innovative materials.
ITASA has successfully initiated production at its new plant located in Querétaro, Mexico.
Solvay has signed a long term agreement with Safran for the supply of high temperature composites and adhesives. Safran will use these advanced materials on several of their critical engine components.
